1. Q: I am bringing my twelve year old son to hunt with
me. Do I pay full price for him?
A: For unguided hunts, you will be
charged for the birds we put out in the field for you and your son.
For guided hunts, we waive the base fee of $70/gun. However,
children must have completed the hunter safety course if they wish to
go quail hunting at Quail Mountain..
2. Q: How far in advance do I need to book?
A: If you are wanting to come on a
weekend, the sooner you book the better. Weekdays seem to have
more availability and can frequently be booked on short notice.
3. Q: Why do Continental Hunts require a deposit?
A: Continental Hunts involve a
lot of people. I take a maximum of twenty hunters per day.
A few years a large group did not show for their Continental Hunt.
It was a peak weekend in which I had turned away several hunters, only
to have the large group not show up.
4. Q: Is it better to book a hunt by emailing you
or by calling?
A: As I do not have access to
email at the farm, it is far better to call. I do my best to
check my email once a day, but can only check it from home at night.
If you are not booking a hunt on short notice, you can send me an
email with your phone number as well as the best time to call you and
I will get back to you that night or the following day.
5. Q: Are guns available for rent?
A: Hunters are responsible for
bringing their own firearm. If a hunter's gun malfunctions or
the hunter runs out of ammunition, a loaner gun may be available for
use and extra ammunition may be available for purchase. Supplies
are not guaranteed.
6. Q: What kind of quail do you have?
A: We
raise Northern Bobwhite Quail. This is the only breed of quail
that we raise. In addition to Northern Bobwhite Quail, we do
have Chukar and Chinese Ringneck Pheasant both to sell and to hunt on
our farm.
